When developing the new Arrakis Mk3, we took our customer feedback seriously and consistently developed its predecessor further. With a stronger processor and extended memory, the Mk3 is much more powerful. Additional interfaces ensure easy integration into a wide variety of system environments.

The new Arrakis is Microsoft Azure certified. As the latest in our line of Arrakis IPCs, our Arrakis Mk3 has been tested and certified for various Microsoft IoT Services.

Due to its scalability and performance, customers can run Azure Edge Runtime on it and deploy modules to it.

This allows IoT solutions to be better realized and faster implemented.

Dual digital Video Interfaces

An important innovation of the Arrakis Mk3 is the digital video interfaces. While the earlier Mk2 is still equipped with a VGA interface, the Mk3 provides a HDMI and Displayport. These modern interfaces make it easier to choose which monitor to connect.

Since USB 3.0 is more and more widespread, the Arrakis Mk3 uses the new standard as well. For applications such as USB3Vision we replaced the two USB 2.0 ports with 4 USB 3.0 ports.

Industrial PC with Dual-Module LTE

As a leading manufacturer of LTE routers with extensive experience with mobile and antenna technology, we know what is important when we build an industrial PC with LTE.

The Arrakis Mk3 can be operated with two LTE modules simultaneously. This makes it possible to use two different providers, which increases the availability. If a power failure or a disturbance occurs at the provider, the router will automatically switch to another network using the second module. On the other hand, both modules can operate with SIM cards of the same provider, so you can connect to different frequency bands at the same time, similar to carrier aggregation.

A Comparison of Generations

A stronger processor, extended RAM and a "Passmark Performance Multithread" (PPM) improvement of about 20% make the Mk3 stand out from its predecessors. Further interfaces such as USB 3.0, HDMI and a display port ensure improved compatibility and easier integration of further components.The design has largely remained the same and the dimensions haven't changed either. This means that the Mk3 can be integrated seamlessly into your system and also replace its predecessor without having to create more installation space.

However, if you have further requirements that the Arrakis in the standard version does not meet, our consulting team is of course available to you at any time and will find a suitable solution to implement your application in the best possible way.

Remote access via LTE

Thanks to the integrated LTE, it is particularly easy to access the Arrakis (for example, on the machine) with the office PC. Thus you can connect cellular directly with the Arrakis and control it comfortably from a distance via TeamViewer.

Three mPCIe Fullsize slots

The Arrakis Mk3 offers three mPCIe Fullsize slots with a high adaptability to your applications. You can, for example, use two LTE modules and even a fieldbus simultaneously.

LoRa® for the Internet of Things

The Arrakis Mk3 with LoRa® module will be a powerful LoRaWAN Gateway with up to 10 km range. This allows you to collect, process and transfer data from the field to higher-level systems.

The Arrakis can also be ordered with 433 MHz, 868 MHz or 915 MHz LoRaWAN compatible modules.

Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is the keyword for the Internet of Things. LPWAN includes several wireless technologies that connect a wide range with very high energy efficiency. It aim is to provide comprehensive communication networks, whose individual devices can also be operated with batteries for years.
The LoRaWAN standard from the LoRa Alliance is a promising candidate for the LPWAN of the Future.

The Arrakis Mk3 has lateral flange nuts, with which the device can be mounted on a mounting plate. 
The already known DIN rail from the first version of the Arrakis is also available for the second generation.

Also available as an option is the rackmount DIN rail URMK. Thus several DIN rail devices can be equally installed in a 19 inch server cabinet.

Details make the difference in daily use. The Arrakis Mk3 was developed together with our customers to meet your needs. The resulting feature is the external power switch. To turn it on, instead of opening the machine cover first as usually, you can easily operate the switch directly from the outside.

For this, two poles of the green terminal block are connected to an external switch on the machine. Certainly, the Arrakis Mk3 can still be automatically turned on, when the power supply gets connected.

The Arrakis Embedded PC uses the powerful Intel Atom® x7-E3950 processor (Apollo Lake). The Apollo Lake platform is the latest generation of industrial 64-bit processors and is characterized by high computing power (2.0 GHz) and low power consumption (12 Watt).

Due to the maximum junction temperature of 110 °C, the CPU also contributes to the wide temperature range ( -20 °C to +70 °C) of this fanless embedded system. Due to the SoDimm socket, the Arrakis MK3 can be equipped with 2, 4 or 8GB RAM on customer request. mSATA industrial SSDs with extended temperature range up to 512GB round out the key data

In conjunction with the Arrakis Mk3 Din Rail PC, you can choose the operating system that fits your requirements.
The embedded industrial PC can be operated with both Linux and Windows. Current operating systems like Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and even Windows 10 are supported. If you are looking for another operating system, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Mass storage by default is a 64GB industrial SSD available. On customer request we provide up to 512 GB storage. We only use high-quality industrial SSDs with an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, whereby a reliable fanless operation is ensured.

As soon as you use a PLC next to an industrial PC, the question arises whether the computer can also take over the work of the PLC. It may be possible to save several devices at the same time. For example, a high-performance embedded industrial computer can replace a PLC, the image processing computer of the AiO system, the HMI and the database gateway with a single industrial computer.
