Photo switches with/without background fade-out, reflected-light barriers and one-way light barriers capture objects contact-less over great distances. For this purpose, they are essential component parts in many automated manufacturing processes. Optical sensors are used everywhere where parts are required to be captured, positioned or counted in a fast and reliable way. Available in various executions, e. g. one-way light barriers, reflected-light barriers, reflex tasters etc., they are able to realise almost any possible application. A high-precision detecting and positioning is of great importance in the engineering industry as well as in other production areas. Optical sensors with laser diodes as a light source represent a solution for such applications. Thanks to the precisely focussed laser beams, objects with switch accuracies better than 0,1 mm can often be captured. Contrast sensors enable to capture objects which only differ in contrast. As an example, registration marks could be named here.
