Industrial light curtains

Measuring and digital light curtains can be used for a variety of applications. Versions with switching output are found in applications e.g. for the recognition of different objects on conveyor belts (even flat objects such as envelopes are recognized by versions with crossed beams) or in ejection control of cutters or presses. Measuring light curtains e.g. with analogue outputs can be used e.g. for web edge guiders or for height or gauge control. Welotec light curtains work with modulated infrared light according to the principle of one-way light barriers. In the units to be mounted opposite, there are various sending and reception diodes which form a light curtain. The high resolution helps to safely capture smallest metallic and non metallic parts moving through the light curtain. By means of an installed amplifier the interruption of a light beam is converted into a switch signal. Apart from the switch signal, an analogue signal proportional to the shadowing area is created.
